Luang Prabang, Laos

In north central Laos, Luang Prabang is a UNESCO and World Heritage Site. In addition to French colonial architecture, Buddhist monasteries and elephant camps, there are opportunities to dive into local arts such as silk weaving. One particularly memorable moment was learning to weave after dyeing my own thread with leaves and other local plants. It was 90 degrees and as I wove alongside other women being paid by the piece I was left in awe of their endurance.
